This painting was inspired by a trip we took this summer from California, through Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. We left Mariposa to escape the Oak Fire in Mariposa County, and the brilliant greens, yellows and blues were a welcome sight after the drought stricken hills in the Sierra Nevada with the smoke and tragic loss of homes due to the fire.
