Sun Kissed Oaks was inspired my walks during a camping stay on private land in rural west Georgia. The entrance to a clearing featured a nearby stand of Poplars, entangled by wild thickets, that would catch the morning sun and present a striking group of vertical light reflections against the bark, contrasting with the dark background of thicket. I used some masking to preserve the lights, as well as negative painting to capture the warmth of morning pouring in on the trees.
