Off the Turquoise Trail

This small study was done along a drive from Albuquerque to Santa Fe along scenic Highway 14, known as the Turquoise Trail. It was late June, the start of "Monsoon Season," and the sky threatened to crack open at any moment. Eventually it did, but not before I was able to capture this scene, which later became a larger studio painting.
