The canyon in the Hengduan Mountains in the southwestern border of China has a thousand-year-old Tea Horse Road. Now these ancient tea-horse roads have long been abandoned, but some relics can still be seen. The mountains and rivers have not changed, but the ancient road in the canyon is full of vitality. I worked and lived there for more than 20 years in the late 1970s and 1980s. This painting was created based on the sketch material of that year.
