Precipice

This pastel was inspired by the waterfalls in Oregon where I live. I painted it on a homemade surface of black gessoed fiberboard with thick texture to bring out the three-dimensional quality of the waterfall. I chose a limited color palette to create a mood of peace and the title reflects the feeling of standing on the Precipice and letting go as the water falls.
