The painting was done on location at Nahuel Huapi Lake, near Villa la Angostura, Patagonia Argentina. In a plein air excursion with a friend and collegue we both took our french easels to a lake beach. For almost 3 hours we painted from life. He posed for me after I have mostly resolved the landscape, as I felt I needed to add a figure and story to my composition.
