Summer Hydrangea Blooms

My plein air paintings are done in oils. I love to see expressive brushwork in paintings. It's one of the things that draws me to painting outdoors because it requires painting a bit quicker to capture the changing light and weather conditions. With this in mind, I try to imply some movement in the scene while capturing subtle shifts in value and color with a variety of brushwork and marks.
