Castle on the Rhine

From a recent cruise down the Rhine River in GermanyI loved the afternoon light on this classic image and I wanted to give all that green some variety and spacial depth. I underpainted the greens with various different colors to have the background hill recede and bring the warm tones of the castle out. I tried to keep it loose.
